About Georgeann

     Mrs. Colella is a retired music teacher for the state of Ohio. She taught Choral Music for 20 years in the Struthers City School System. Mrs. Colella has taught music workshops for young students through a Youngstown State University program titled “Student Motivated by the Arts.” While her husband was a performing member of the United States Naval Academy Band in Annapolis, Maryland, Mrs. Colella had the privilege of performing as a guest soloist. Currently, Mrs. Colella has a very active voice studio where she teaches private voice lessons.

     As a vocalist, Mrs. Colella has performed at many area churches. She has been a soloist for many holiday programs including Handel’s “Messiah” and Mendelssohn’s “Elijah.” Mrs. Colella is a soloist and cantor at Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, Ohio.

     Mrs. Colella received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. She completed post graduate hours at both Youngstown State and Walsh College. She began her professional study at the age of 16 with Dr. Wade Raridon

     Mrs. Colella is a life time member of Pan Pipes, a Sigma Alpha Iota professional music Sorority. She is an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an educational fraternity for women and is also an active member of the Mahoning County Retired Teachers Association  and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.

     Mrs. Colella lives with her husband of 46 years. They have 4 married children and 5 grandchildren. All of whom live in Poland Ohio.
