With education from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, Grant has studied classical saxophone and woodwinds with Frank Mazzeo. A frequent pit orchestra musician, Grant regularly plays local orchestras on saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and double reeds. Born and raised in Bucks County, Grant is currently the assistant director of a local area marching band and enjoys arranging music for bands and a capella ensembles. Grant is also an in-demand sound technican, frequently doing live sound and recordings for various a capella groups, theater performances, and bands.

A student of the Council Rock School District, Grant participated in numerous ensembles throughout his school age career, including marching band, jazz band, orchestra, pit orchestra, and choir. The recipient of the Bonnie Adler Scholarship for Performing Arts, Grant then continued his studies in Music Education at Temple University.
