About Gregory

Gregory Ozment was born in Redwood City, CA and shortly thereafter moved to Hayward, CA. Growing up playing piano and violin, he had developed an interest in percussion after being involved in his high school drumline and had gotten involved in percussion in his high school wind ensemble and wind symphony. This led him to study percussion in his college years in both the Bay Area and later Orange County with instructors Artie Storch, Theresa Dimond, and Rob Slack. He had also experienced being taught by other various professional percussionists such as Ted Atkatz, Shaun Tilburg, Casey Cangelosi, Matt Howard, and Lynn Vartan.

Greg currently resides in Irvine, CA. He had finished his master's degree in music performance from California State University, Fullerton, and he is currently a freelance percussionist in Orange County and Los Angeles County. He has performed for symphonies such as the Dana Point Symphony and Palo Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra, as well as sharing the stage with Frank Ticheli, Randy Jackson, and Larry Livingston. Alongside being a performer he is currently on faculty at La Serna High School in Whittier, Suzanne Middle School in Walnut, Music & Arts in San Dimas, and Neal Music Instruction in Anaheim. He has previously taught at the Saturday Conservatory of Music in San Gabriel, Da Capo Music in Santa Ana, and OrchePia in Irvine. He is continuing to find more opportunity as both a performer and a teacher.
