Music Teacher, Master

About Me

Coming from a musical family, it is not an exaggeration to say that Haerin’s life has been very much surrounded by music, and it was something that naturally speaks to her heart. Growing up, she got to have sneak peek of playing other instruments besides violin. Haerin was once a flutist, pianist, and a singer. Being exposed to a few different music fields, her understanding of how other instruments work and how they sound in chamber music has improved over time.

With all these experiences she has built up, Haerin has performed in various concerts as a soloist and a chamber musician. Her recent chamber activities include the National Orchestral Institute where she participated in Naxos recording, the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra, and Columbia Orchestra. She has performed at her recitals, the Hill Center, the Howard Community College Faculty Concert, Commencements both at the Howard Community College and the University of Maryland. Haerin is a first prize winner at Korea Mozart Competition, and second prize winner at Haneum Competition in Korea. She also was selected as one of the Honors Chamber Group at the University of Maryland, and was one of the finalists at Howard Community Rising Stars Competition.

Her love and passion for teaching slowly emerged at the end of her undergraduate year. She found herself strongly wanting to share the pedagogies that she had been taught by a number of faculties and mentors in her life. With the new mission that bloomed in her heart, Haerin started expanding her private studio which consists of few different age groups of students. She has been actively teaching her private students in the area and is currently a violin instructor at Music and Arts.

Haerin received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Maryland with full merit scholarship studying with professor David Salness and is continuing her study at the Peabody Conservatory with professor Judith Ingolfsson with excellent artist scholarship pursuing Master of Music.
