About Me

Helen Haeun Kim is an active flutist and teacher based in DFW, Texas area. Ms. Kim currently teaches flute at the Birdville High School, North Richland Hills, Tx and runs her private studio in Fort Worth, Texas.

Previously, Ms. Kim was a flutist/piccolist of the All Soul's Orchestra, London, U.K., music  teacher of Alpha Academy in North Carolina, associate music director of the Fayetteville International Orchestra and music director of the Ark Community Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

As a young rising artist, Ms. Kim has won numerous competitions and auditions; Carolina Band Festival, Dallas Symphony Festival, Raleigh Area Flute Association Competition, Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and many more. Ms. Kim has also appeared as a soloist with the Carolina Philharmonic and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Kim studied flute performance under Dr. Tadeu Coelho and Nicolas Duchamp at the Universtiy of North Carolina School of the Arts, where obtained her Bachelor of Music. Her further flute/piccolo studies were taken in London under William Bennett, Kate Hill, and Patricia Morris at the Royal Academy of Music, University of London, where obtaned her Master of Music.

Ms. Kim speaks Korean and English. She has a musical family, and she likes to perform with her siblings.
