About Haley

Haley Dietz, 22, is a native of State College, PA. She is recent graduate of the University of Maryland, where she received her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance under the instruction of Irina Muresanu. Haley began studying the violin at age five, after being inspired by a girl playing the violin on Sesame Street.

In 2015 she attended California Summer Music Festival, where she studied with James Stern. Haley has played in solo master classes with Yehonatan Berick, and Wendy Sharp, as well as chamber music classes with members from the Guarneri Quartet, the Pacifica Quartet, Quartuor Danel, and the Elias Quartet. In 2016, she received a full fellowship to the National Orchestral Institute and performed with them again in 2017. Haley attended and received a full scholarship to the Round Top Festival Institute in the summer of 2018, where she studied with Joan Kwon, Regis Pasquier, and Stefan Milenkovich. Haley also began studying viola during her freshman year, and performs regularly in both chamber and orchestral settings on viola.

Haley has a passion for teaching. She has taught violin, viola, ukulele, and piano lessons. Haley has taught students ages four to adults. Her goal is to make the musical learning process both fun and structured. She loves to watch her students grow both as musicians and as people. Haley hopes to instill a lifelong love for music in her students.
