Reed Bodenstein is a pianist, composer, and South Jersey native. Having studied classical piano through middle and high school, he entered a Jazz Composition program at the University of the Arts, where he graduated with the highest GPA in the College of Performing Arts and earned the President’s Award for “academic and artistic excellence of the highest order.” During and after his undergraduate studies, his big band charts have been regularly performed by the university bands, and he co-leads an independent big band. He has gone on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Music Education at UArts, where he will graduate in May 2017. Since 2013, Reed has taught piano to students of all ages in classical, jazz, and pop styles. When not teaching or writing, Reed performs regularly in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. He also holds a certificate from the Piano Technician Academy.
