About Heidi Beyer

I have been studying, playing, singing, writing and performing music since the age of ten years old.   I learned to play music on an acoustic guitar, and, I started writing songs right away.  The first song I wrote was called, "The Sign of the Times".  I played concerts for friends and family on a makeshift stage in my backyard growing up in New York.

I am passionate about the guitar ,and, with that, I have so much respect and appreciation for my ability to play.  "This is the first step to being a successful musician", I share with my students.  I have also played and performed on piano, percussion, bass, and vibraphone.  I have a BA in Communications from Arizona State University where I studied music and performance.

I am a published songwriter.  I lived in Los Angeles for over twenty years.  I had my own band and recorded often.  Having been represented for a record deal, I was a regular at well-known LA clubs as Genghis Cohen, Coconut Teaser and Cafe Largo.  I studied music and songwriting with Grammy award winning songwriter, Harriet Schock.  I was a member of LASS, Los Angeles Songwritiers Showcase, NAS, and participated with ASCAP and BMI.

I headed the music department for the SYMC of Los Angeles performing throughout the country.  For the last several years, I have been volunteering teaching young students from under privileged backgrounds by empowering them through music.   They learned to play guitar, music theory, performance and songwriting.

I strongly believe we are all students and teachers.  My students are always my teachers.  There is nothing greater to my life than this understanding.  To have the privilege to share the knowledge I have acquired over the years, this is my passion, this is my desire.

I have been teaching for over thirty years.  I love to work with young children to super adults.

I hope you will allow me the opportunity to share how music can change and transform you or your loved ones life.
