About Ian Robinson
Ian Robinson is a cellist, bassist, and educator from Philadelphia, PA. He started classical cello at age 4, going on to receive a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University, where he was one of the last students of the legendary cellist Janos Starker. Ian also went to the Cleveland Institute of Music, earning two Master's degrees, one in cello performance and the other in Suzuki Pedagogy. After finishing school, Ian played with the Virginia Symphony and was the Director of Strings at Norfolk Collegiate. He is now the cello teacher at the Franklin Suzuki Institute, and is an active studio musician for both classical and contemporary music. Ian gigs with Nashville bands on both cello and bass, and is a member of the band Harpooner.
