Areas of Instruction
Jacob Colby, a recent graduate of Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music & Dance with a Bachelor of Music Education, is a music teacher and performer. His primary instrument is the violin, and he has participated in various youth orchestras, including the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Sinfonia, and Temple University Symphony Orchestra. Jacob has studied privately with Dr. Luigi Mazzocchi, Associate Concertmaster of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, and Dr. Valissa Willwerth, member of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Recently, he has become a member of the newly formed Temple University Baroque Quartet. He has taught at the Music School of Delaware for the past four summers and has had students make appearances on Delaware Public Radio. He is also avidly involved with the ASTA chapter of Temple University as well as the NAfMEC organization. Additionally, he has recently been added tot eh faculty and has accepted a position as a studio violin teacher at The Music School of Delaware. Although he is primarily a classical violinist, he enjoys playing both Jazz and Folk music in his free time. He has performed at venues in the Philadelphia area such as The World Cafe Live with Zach Feingold Band and Flounder Warehouse.
