Beginning my flute journey 16 years ago, I am lucky to still be very active in the musical community. Aside from teaching at Music & Arts, I have played in numerous pit orchestras at Georgetown University, where I attended graduate school.
Before moving to DC, I attended Georgia Southern University (GSU) where I studied Music Performance and Psychology. While at GSU, I was principal chair flautist for three years in the symphonic wind ensemble and a member of the flute choir. Although the C flute is my primary instrument, I have explored all types of flutes in the flute family, as well as guita, ukelele, cello, and piano.
In my spare time, I sometimes play for my one year old miniature schnauzer puppy (who likes to sing along) or I volunteer. You can also occasionally find me playing my flute outside on a beautiful day in the District!
