About Jason

Jason DeGeorge (Guitarist, Session Musician, Original Artist)

Pequannock Township native Jason DeGeorge began studying the guitar at age14, and his passion for the instrument was apparent immediately. In Jason’s junior year of high school, his skill had advanced enough that he began to teach others to play. “It never occurred to me that I could teach until someone asked me for lessons!," Jason says. "Trying to break down what I learned for someone else in a understandable way was a great experience to get at such a young age.” After High School, Jason attended County College of Morris where he received his Associate of the Arts degree in Classical guitar under the tutelage of such great professors as Carol Hamersma and Dr. Richard Gradone. Jason went on to be a Music Theory tutor, a Phi Theta Kappa member, and made the National Dean’s List. After graduating from CCM, Jason went on to New York University. In 2003, he graduated from NYU with a Bachelor’s in Music Performance in Jazz Guitar.
Jason has studied with such music giants as Bucky Pizzarelli, Vic Juris, Ron McClure, Pat Cerello, Tom Boris, Walter Rheinhold, Dr. Lawrence Ferrara, and many more.

After graduating from NYU, Jason became a full-time private lesson teacher, studio musician, and performer.
While juggling the many hats that a professional musician wears, Jason always stays committed to his craft. “My passion for music fuels my desire to make whatever I’m working on better: students, recordings, and gigs alike.”

When not teaching, Jason can be found working with many great artists. One stand out artist is Leanne Weiss. After playing on Leanne’s album Momentum, the two have shared the stage with such greats as Deirks Bentley, Maddie and Tae, Rae Lynn, Kip Moore, Caddillac Three, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Dylan Scott, Josh Dorr, and Russell Dickerson. Jason has also been featured with Leanne on 69News in Allentown, PA on several occasions. They recently had the honor of performing with the legendary Kenny Rogers on The Gambler’s Last Deal tour. Jason has also been featured on the Lauren Marsh song "Dear Love." This song was used on the hit show NCIS: New Orleans

While all these great experiences have brought much joy to Jason, he still loves to teach! Any age, any level!

“Your lessons are for you!" Jason says. "They are designed for you. I strive to make everyone’s lessons as fun and inspiring as possible, whatever that means for you, because that is when you will learn and grow the most in the craft.”
