My favorite instruments to play are the bells and xylophone. For me it was a great combination of the piano skills I had, with a twist. It was fun and exciting to learn new songs and methods. One of my other favorites is the drum set. There is always something new and exciting to try out. You can create any kind of song or beat that you can imagine. It is also a really great stress reliever.
I took piano for about five years growing up. I took these lessons with a private teacher and it was great getting the individualized attention. After that I was in concert band at both my middle and high school. In ninth grade I was in a class solely for percussionists. We got to focus more in-depth on percussion and the history behind the instruments. This lasted for about five years. During all of this I also played handbells at my church for about seven years. We played everything from hymns to Christmas music. It was fun seeing an instrument like handbells take on so many different genres of song.
Musically I like most anything. I love big band music from the 1940's but I also love to listen to Queen. I grew up with parents that really appreciated the arts and tried to make my sisters and I well-rounded muscians. As well as recording music I have a great appreciation for Broadway. I enjoy going to musicals, and in turn singing and playing songs from those shows.
That's a little bit about me. Feel free to let me know if you want to know more.
