I have over 10 years experience teaching beginner and intermediate flute players in private lessons and in public school setting. I have a bachelor's degree in music education with a focus on flute of the Unifersity of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have performed with the Charleston Community Band, CofC Wind Ensemble, and the CofC Flute Choir for the past 3 years.

I take great pride in helping my students learn the fundamentals of reading and playing music. I love to watch as they grow in their abilities and develop a passion for music.

Performance Experience:

  • UNCG Collegium Musicum, recorder, 3 years, featured performers for the North Carolina Renaissance Festival.

  • Carolinas Wind Orchestra, flute, 4 years, featured performers at the South Carolina Music Educators Conference and a music festival in Barcelona, Spain.

  • Charleston Community Band, flute and piccolo, 3 years with featured performances all around the Charleston area.

  • College of Charleston Wind Ensemble, flute, 2 years.

  • College of Charleston Flute Choir, flute and piccolo, 2 years.

Teaching Philosophy:

  • I believe that music performance helps to make a person well rounded and improves all aspects of our lives. I endeavor to give my students a solid understanding of the fundamentals of music performance and help them develop a lifelong love of music. I take great joy in seeing my students learn and grow in their field of study!
