About Me

Jessica Powell is a freelance musician who has played with the Fayetteville Symphony, Fayetteville Community Band, and has performed with several small woodwind groups.

Originally from the Winston-Salem area, Ms. Powell was involved in many music ensembles growing up and was inspired by her teachers to pursue a career in music. Ms. Powell completed her B.A in Music Education in 2016 from Gardner-Webb Univeristy with a concentration in Clarinet studies. She performed in woodwind ensembles on Flute, Clarinets, and Saxophones. She also received lessons in Oboe and Piccolo studies. She performed in the Univeristy’s Orchestra, Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and several small ensembles. Currently and Ms. Powell teaches at St. Pauls Middle School and assists with the High School program. She is also attending UNC-Greensboro for her Masters in Music Education. Ms. Powell is dedicated to helping her students experience the joy of making music, finding their own voice, learning fundamentals, and, of course, making music fun.
