About Jewelia

         Jewelia earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University.  She has been studying the violin for over twenty years and has a background in both classical and traditional music styles.  Her time at Middle Tennessee State University has been focused on classical music, but during her training at Blair School of Music’s fiddle program at Vanderbilt University, she studied various styles such as Celtic, Bluegrass, and Old-Time.  She continued her traditional and commercial music studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she focused on rock, jazz, and blues. Jewelia has participated in many university chamber ensembles and spent four years as a member of the Middle Tennessee State University Chamber and Symphony Orchestra.

            She has received multiple honors including music scholarships to Berklee College of Music, Belmont University, Middle Tennessee State University, and Austin Peay State University. Her teaching experience includes teaching private instruction at three institutions in Clarksville, Nashville, and Murfreesboro. Jewelia prides herself on being able to provide well-rounded instruction or instruction focused on a particular style or genre to students of any age.  Music has been one of Jewelia’s passions all of her life and it brings her joy to bring the love of music into the lives of every one of her students.
