About Me

My name is Jodi and I was born right up the road in Danville, Virginia. Music has been an invaluable part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I love working for a store that values and promotes music in every way possible. Music education is a life-long learning process, and I strive to discover something new musically every day, invariably learning a little bit about myself along the way.

I started playing saxophone in the fifth grade, and spent most of my middle and high school days particpating in every musical activity I could find, from All-Virginia band, jazz band, and marching band to orchestra (bass clarinet), theatrical productions, and church choir. I graduated from Furman University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, where I studied both saxophone and Bel Canto style operatic singing (bass). My favorite styles of music to play and perform are jazz/big band and early a cappella sacred music from composers such as Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, and Carlo Gesualdo, as well as contemporary choral composers such as Arvo Part and John Tavener. However, I listen to just about everything! My love of music has afforded me the opportunity to perform on many stages and in beautiful cathedrals throughout the U.S. and Great Britain, and I couldn't be more thankful for the presence music has had in my life.

Please feel free to email me about saxophones, other woodwinds, or any other music-related questions. I would love to help in any way I can!
