John's Teaching Philosophy

"Music education can be beneficial on many levels. It can teach life skills such as focus, dedication, and multi tasking. The student is always trying to improve; to be better today than yesterday. Studying music can be humbling, each student has special qualities and unique needs. My role as a teacher is to maximize strengths, improve weaknesses, to praise and critique, and to encourage my students to be self-motivated."
