About Joseph MacEachen
Joseph MacEachen is a native of Long Island. Throughout both middle school and high school Joseph has participated in various school ensembles and outside organizations, such as NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association), and LIYO (Long Island Youth Orchestra).
Mr. MacEachen holds a B.M. in Music Education from LIU Post - C.W. Post campus, and studied in the studio of Maureen Hynes. Joseph has also previously studied with Amy Camus, Benjamin Wolff, and Janet Holmes. During his time at C.W. Post Joseph has participated in the LIU Post orchestra, LIU Post Cello Ensemble, and multiple master classes by various artists such as the Shanghai String Quartet. Prior to the completion of his program, Joseph has completed his student teaching in the Elmont and Freeport school districts. After receiving his bachelor of music degree in Music Education K-12, Joseph has spent time in the Yonkers school district at Martin Luther King Academy, teaching grades 3-6 and at P.S 244Q in Flushing Queens teaching grades K-4 as orchestra director. Joseph also has privately taught students of all ages and skill levels for over six thousand teaching hours. During his time pursuing his B.M., Joseph has performed outside of LIU Post with the Nassau Community Orchestra, Hofstra Symphony Orchestra, Five Towns Symphony, Nassau Pops, and has spent time performing in a piano trio called the “Leftie” trio, in conjunction with Susan Sobolewski (piano) and Steven Rudin (violin).
Joseph is currently pursuing his M.S. in School Building Leadership at St. John’s University. Joseph currently maintains a string and piano studio that spans Nassau and Suffolk Counties that is open to all ages and skill levels.
