Areas of Instruction
Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Voice, Drum Set
I discovered music at five years old listening to The Carpenters on the radio and singing old hymns in Baptist church. I sang in high school choir for four years and taught myself how to play piano. I taught myself to play the guitar, and started my first band in 1985. This original rock band was called “Mind Over Matter”. In 1988, I started another original rock band called “Rhythm, Rhyme, and Reason” and played the Hollywood and Orange County circuits until 1993. From 1993 – 1994, I took private vocal lessons from Rona Klinghoffer (Julliard Alumni). In 1994, I played with the rock-a-billy group “The Hot Rod Gang” for a year. That group broke up and I started “The Surrealists” and we played until 1997 all over Southern California. I toured America and the Carribean with the “David Musical” at the end of 1997. From 1998 – 2000, I performed as Elvis Presley at various locations. In 1999, I played two years with the world famous polka band “Roger and the Villagers”. I did a solo stint as an acoustic and jazz performer “Joseph Alan” from the year 2000 – 2004, as well as taking music classes toward an AA at Citrus College. In 2005, I co-founded the southern rock band “Dixie Highway”. I then formed the original classic rock group “Levinstone”. I have been playing original, country, pop, and jazz, as well as classic rock, ever since.
