Josh was exposed to music at an early age. His parents cultivated a rich musical environment at home, which inspired his musical development. His studies began at the age of five, and he has been studying piano, music theory, and composition for nearly 18 years. Josh is heavily influenced by music of the Classical and Romantic eras. His favorite composers include Felix Mendelssohn, J.S. Bach, and Johannes Brahms. Josh joined his church choir and quickly advanced to the position of Choir Director, which he held for many years. After high school he joined The Woodlands Chorale, performing many major works in the classical repertoire. He placed first in a composition competition, with his original piano sonatina. Josh is currently pursuing a bachelors degree, and continues his studies in performance, theory, and composition. He currently studies organ with David Englert. Josh is an experienced teacher, and does well with students of all ages. He brings tons of energy to his lessons, keeping his students engaged throughout!
