About Me

Kacee duGas is a native Texan who performs and provides private cello lessons in the Greater Houston area. After beginning her studies on cello at age 11, her love and curiosity for music expanded into an ever-evolving career.

Upon her arrival to the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, Kacee studied under the tutelage of renowned solo cellist and professor, Vagram Saradjian, D.M., a former student of Mstislav Rostropovich. She is also credited with extensive attention to contemporary works, having premiered and performed over 30 student compositions from the Moores School of Music’s Composition Studio within the span of 4 years. As a chamber musician, she has studied with violinist Dr. Kirsten Yon and performed in a masterclass with University of North Texas’ Felix Olschofka.

In 2014, Kacee graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance and was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society for high musical achievement and academic success. For 5 years, she has been teaching and continuing to perform in Houston, Cypress, Katy, and Sugar Land. Kacee is also a section member of the upcoming Bayou City Symphony and performs with the Symphony of South East Texas.

She joined the Music & Arts team in September 2015.
