Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, Masters in Performance from West Chester University, work toward DMA at Mason Gross School of the Arts with Theodore Lettvin
As an active member of the Asheville Area Piano Forum Ms. Boyd is the chairperson of the annual Practice for Pets event in February in which students obtain sponsors for their practice hours over the month and raise money for the Asheville Humane Society as well as become eligible for prizes.
With more than 40 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities., Ms Boyd was the teacher of first place winners in the Asheville Piano Competition for three years in a row., Karen's greatest accomplishment as a teacher has been demonstrated by the large number of students who have remained in her studio until their high school graduations.
Karen loves working with young beginners as well as more accomplished transfer students.
