Karen Cramer is from Austin Texas and started playing the violin at the age of 4 at the University of Texas string project. Karen is now a sophomore pursuing a bachelor's degree in Music Education at Texas State University studying under the direction of Dr. Lynn Ledbetter. She plays in the Texas State symphony orchestra and, most recently, was a section leader for the Texas State Opera performance of Dido and Aneas. She has performed solo works by Mozart, Bach, and Kabalevsky. With the Texas State Symphony Orchestra she has performed works by Shostakovitch, Respighi, Dvorak, and a number of contemporary composers. Karen also teaches at the Texas State University string project. She co-teaches a class of beginning violin students, ages 5-8, and she has a growing private studio with students ranging from ages 5-10.
