About Me

Hi there! My name is Kayla, and I'm very excited to be a part of the Music and Arts family! I started my time with Music & Arts as extra help during the 2014 back to school season, and was shortly hired after as a regular employee. A year later I was promoted to manage the new Westborough, MA, location. It's been a great time so far, and I'm excited for the future.

I have experience teaching and playing brass instruments for over fifteen years, and hold a master's degree in brass pedagogy and performance. I am currently finishing my doctorate in tuba performance. Also, being in the music performance world for over ten years has given me knowledge on any band and orchestral instrument. I am happy to match you or your student with the correct instrument based on your needs and wants.

One of my passions in life is having a hand in a young musician's journey, whether it be aiding in the selection of their first instrument or signing up a student for their first set of private music lessons. I love sharing my passion for music and playing with new musicians. One of my fondest memories from childhood is coming home from school and my mom giving me my first trumpet.

I enjoy playing duets with my trumpet playing husband, and singing to my infant son. I'm also learning to play bass guitar and improvisation - learning never has to stop.

Combining my experiences as a performer, teacher, and sales associate, I invite you to come to the store and chat with me with any questions you may have on products or music, from the most expensive tuba, obscure sheet music, down to a box of reeds!
