About Me

I have always had a passion for music and my mom taught me at an early age how to play piano. At first, I hated piano and just wanted to learn guitar. This led to a deal between me and my mom that once I completed my piano book, she would buy me my first guitar.... That guitar became my new love instantly. I spent most of my time in my room teaching myself how to play. Despite never taking any official music lessons until college, I’ve stuck with the guitar for 7 years now.

However, it didn't take me long to come back to the piano and grow a love for that instrument as well. I have also picked up bass, ukulele, and I am currently learning harmonica.

My love of music has led me to become a music major at Glendale Community College where I am currently studying classical guitar. My goal is to end up teaching music on an individual level.

I have played guitar and bass at my church all through junior high and high school. In addition, I have also traveled to New Orleans and India with my church and played bass during our performances.

My advice to all beginning musicians:
Learn how to read music. No matter what instrument you play, it will give you a tremendous amount of power.
I honestly would recommend lessons even if you have been and/or plan on teaching yourself. I found out the hard way, that bad habits are easy to pick up and hard to break. No matter what level you are at, there's is always something you can still learn.
