As a previous band director, he taught students from grades four through twelve in Garland and Redwater, TX. Throughout his career, he has directed his students to many successes, including earning the Best in Class Percussion award. His students also acheived numerous superior ratings at UIL contests and Solo and Ensemble, with many qualifying to compete at the state level.
Kevin's instructional strengths include, but certainly are not limited to, instrumental technique, sight-reading strategies, ear training, pedagogy, Solfege, and marching fundamentals. Whether working with an entire band, sectionals, or one-on-one instruction, he has a unique ability to be flexible in his approach which allows him to be responsive to each student's needs. By providing a solid foundation and understanding of music theory together with proper instrument instruction, he has been able to inspire students to have a greater respect for music and to always be/play at their best.
