Kristen received her Bachelor's of Music in Music Composition in 2015 from California State University Stanislaus. While in school she took private lessons in classical piano from Dr. Benjamin Boren, in voice from Dr. Sandra Rubalcava and Dr. Cherrie Llewelyn, and in music composition from Dr. Deborah Kavasch and John Marvin. During the course of her degree she found herself taking on as many electives as possible in order to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for music. Her passion for knowledge is reflected in her dynamic teaching style which encourages critical analysis and growth.
After graduation, Kristen sought opportunities to keep refining herself as a musician. She studied saxophone under the tutelage of Bay Area musician, Kevin Stuart and jazz bass under the instruction of jazz guitarist and owner of Main Street Music, Ken Cefalo. As a student she is committed to continually refining her craft. As a teacher she is enthusiastic and passionate about guiding her students toward success and confidence. In her studio, students are taught a well-rounded approach to music and are given a solid foundation in technique, rhythm, music theory, and expression. With this foundation students find a sense of control over their instrument as well as a freedom to express themselves through music.
