Kyle Moreen is a woodwinds specialist, composer, and educator from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He began playing saxophone at 11 years old. Kyle received a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance and Composition from Whitworth University. He also received a Master of Music in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the University of Miami, where he studied with Gary Keller. In recent years, he has studied and performed on flute and clarinet in addition to saxophone.
During his 14 years of experience as a saxophone player, Kyle has had the opportunity to study and play various styles of music including classical, jazz, and pop. He has performed in wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, jazz combos, saxophone quartets, pit orchestras, pop bands, and more. He is currently performing with various local artists. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with Kenny Barron, Chris Potter, Arturo Sandoval, Jon Secada, and Monica Mancini.
In addition to his performance experience, Kyle has had a wide variety of teaching opportunities over the last 6 years. He has taught jazz improvisation classes, coached ensembles, and led both private and group lessons.
Kyle is passionate about helping students become autonomous lifelong learners. He equips students with the tools they need to design their own personalized practice routines. At the same time, he approaches teaching with a positive attitude and an infectious passion for music.
