About Larry Farr
Mr. Farr continued with his doctoral studies in music performance at Boston University where he was awarded assistantships in conducting and music theory. He served as assistant director of the Boston University Jazz Band. He performed with the Boston University brass quintet and with members of the Boston Pops.
Mr. Farr was the band director and the brass instructor at the University of Alaska, Dodge City Community College, and Southern Utah State College. His doctoral studies continued with an assistantship at Brigham Young University in music theory, conducting, and as the director of the ROTC concert band. Mr. Farr has been a soloist and performed in various orchestras and chamber groups nationwide. Currently, he is performing with the orchestras and ensembles in the Charlotte area. Mr. Farr is the professor of music and art history at Montreat College. He was the band and chorus director at Queen’s Grant Community School. He teaches private and group piano and band instrument students at the Fort Mill YMCA and at Music and Arts in Charlotte.
