Lauren Diaz, a native of Pennsylvania, was very active in her school's music programs.  Starting on French Horn in fourth grade she so starting learning trumpet, trombone and piano.  In middle school and high school she was active playing all four instruments as well as the various vocal offings of the school district.

Lauren attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a BS in Music Education with a concentration in French Horn and a minor in Piano.
After moving to New Jersey, Lauren started work at the William F. Halloran Gifted and Talented school in Elizabeth, New Jersey teaching fifth and sixth grade band.  She also teaches general music, piano and technology classes to third through eighth grade students.  She has also been a member of  the Eastern Wind Symphony,, since 2007 and will be traveling with the group to play at the prestigious Midwest Clinic for Band and Orchestra fall 2015.
Lauren also graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from Hunter College in 2014.  While studying world music she concentrated her own research in European Folk music by studying the music of the Hungarian American community in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
As a teacher, Laure uses all of her experiences to find the best approach for each student to succeed.  Her goal is for her students to become independent musicians that can continue their music playing throughout their lives.
