About Lawrence

I have been playing music since I was four.  Piano was my first instrument, but I was drawn to percussion by age eight.  I am university trained (BM performance - University of the Arts, Philadelphia) and have performed in multiple styles; as a jazz/rock drummer up and down the East Coast, backing shows in Reno and Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City casinos, and as the principle percussionist for Opera Barga in Florence Italy.

Opportunities to play piano became more and more abundant and I switched my professional focus to performing in Piano Bars.  I had a residency at The Downhill Hotel, in Ballina Ireland, and was a featured performer at Jacob's in Aarhus Denmark.  I then did a stint with Holland America Cruise Line before moving over to Carnival Cruise Line where I stayed for eight years, meeting my wife Heather who was also a pianist for Carnival.  We decided to limit our travel and we settled in Manchester, NH.  I have been teaching percussion and piano at Music and Arts for more than a year and I continue to enjoy the experience.  My fellow teachers maintain a high level of competence and the teaching studio is a lively place to learn the art and fun of music.
