I am currently the Music Director and accompanist for a chamber group of singers and instrumentalists from Covenant Fellowship Church. Also known as the CovFel Chorale, the group performs at select church services, an annual church Christmas concert, Fair Acres nursing home in Media, PA,and Maris Grove Chapel, Glen Mills, PA retirement facility. Sacred music selection involves opportunities to arrange music to suit the makeup of the group and musical style preferred at the time. I mostly draw from piano solos and score them for the chorale, either as a cappella or accompanied pieces, in classical, contemporary, or jazz stylings. I join the a cappella portions of the performances by providing vocal support—alto or second soprano when needed. When more suitable, at Maris Grove, I accompany on the organ. Occasionally, I incorporate flute and/or strings to enhance the performance which often necessitates writing the part(s).
During chamber music and pedagogical studies at Temple University, I received a fellowship to teach piano each semester to non-music majors, music minors, and music education majors who needed to pass their requirement for piano. I follow the repertory standards of the Music Teachers National Association (USA) and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (Canada). At Morningside College, I studied with Arne Sorensen and at Temple University, Harvey Wedeen.
