About Linda

Linda has been singing since she was 3 years old, and has spent most of her life in some kind of choir or vocal ensemble.  She began piano lessons when she was 8 years old, and never had to be told to practice!  She started playing the violin when she was in 4th grade, and was the concertmistress of an All-District Orchestra in 7th grade.  In High School she was in the school orchestra, Concert Choir, Girls Choir and select Vocal Ensemble.  In college, Linda sang in Concert Choir and Opera Workshop.  Linda was also in Opera Workshop in graduate school.

Linda graduated from Southwest Baptist University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.  She has a Master of Music degree from the University of Missouri in Voice Performance.  She has 15 years of experience in teaching General Music, where she also directed Special Chorus and a World Music Drumming ensemble.   She also has 10 years experience as a Substitute Teacher and currently substitutes in the Olathe School District.

Linda has a passion for music and an endless fascination with the learning process.  She believes everyone can learn and benefit from music education, and has seen the positive effects of music on everyone from age 4 to age 84.  She has a special interest in helping develop and and protect the most fragile instrument:  the singing voice. Linda enjoys a wide spectrum of music, from classical to jazz, from musical theater to movie soundtracks.  She also dabbles in songwriting.
