About Linh T

Linh Trinh was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, to a non-musical family. Trinh had her first music lesson at age four. At age six, she became a piano student at the Hanoi Conservatory, now renamed the Vietnam National Academy of Music. At the Conservatory, she was listed as one of the best piano students for academic achievement and received scholarships. Trinh earned her Bachelors Degree in Music with cum laude honors from St. Mary’s College of Maryland as a piano student of Brian Ganz. In the summer of 2014, Trinh performed at the Young Artist’s Recital of the Alba Music Festival in Italy.

Trinh is currently a graduate student in piano performance at George Mason University where studies with Dr. Linda Apple Monson. She is the recipient of the Friends of Music Ruth Jacksier Scholarship Award. Trinh has been selected to perform in recitals and performances at George Mason University, including the Grand Piano Celebration 2015 and Arts by George 2015. She also performed as the Grand Finale at the George Mason University School of Music Honors Recital 2016, and was selected to play for the President of George Mason University, Dr. Ángel Cabrera. In Spring 2016, she played in a piano masterclass by the Peabody graduate Awadagin Pratt, who won the 1992 Naumburg International Piano Competition. Focusing on performing music, Trinh has a passion for bringing Classical music to a much larger audience, so that nobody misses out this gift of life. She also teaches group piano classes and private lessons, but specifies in working one-on-one, “so that I can give closer attention and develop particular strategy for each student, to help them grow and shine as their own stars.”
