Bass Guitar, Guitar
About Marc Eisenmann
I have been playing guitar since the age of 10, formally studying for 8 years under Bob Cappetta at the Guitar Guild & Academy of Musical Arts in Palmyra NJ. The story of what gravitated me towards playing the guitar is short but fairly comical; it’s all because of the movie Back to the Future. After watching it a few years prior to actually playing, I wanted to do three things: 1) Play the guitar 2) Get a Delorean 3) Skateboard… I’m pretty sure the childhood version of myself would be proud - The guitar has always stayed in the forefront of my life, I am still working on #2 but the skateboarding, that’s not a skill I possess!
Through out my years in grade school I was involved in almost every music program available. Concert Band (clarinet, bass), Pit Orchestra (bass), Marching Band (bass, percussion), Jazz Band (bass, guitar), Chorus (B1, B2), Chamber Choir (B2), and Drama Club. Excelling in Jazz band and Chorus: South Jersey honor bands for Jazz, receiving the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, 2001; and honor choruses (All South Jersey 1996-1999, 2001; All State Chorus, 2000)
I attended Monmouth University, but did not major in music (BA in Communications / Minor in Anthropology). During that time, however, I was immersed in my own band: writing and recording three albums, releasing two on an independent label; booking and touring the eastern United States, 100+ performances in venues that ranged from smaller intimate shows to large festivals and professional tours.
Around that time I advanced my knowledge and practice of audio recording. I interned at a professional audio/video house and apprenticed with a Grammy-nominated producer. I currently operate a semi-pro studio out of my home, while occasionally working out of pro studios in Philadelphia and New Jersey to get desired sounds. I have worked with dozens of bands across many genres to extract the best performances and help create their final audio product.
My years of formal and informal musical experience have left me with a deep musical appreciation, which I now enjoy sharing with my students. I have been instructing at the Toms River Music and Arts since April 2017, striving to be a catalyst of growth for the beginner and intermediate guitarist.
Genres of interest include Rock, Metal, Jazz, and Blues. I will gladly help you learn and execute music you want to play. Whether it be a song from your favorite band, a piece of music you need to fine tune for an audition, or any other performance piece you choose, we can work together to get you there. Music is my passion; let me help make it yours.
