Michael Paff is a percussionist, composer, and music producer from Denver, Colorado. Michael is from Denver, Colorado, and has been playing drums and percussion for 18 years. He is the musical director and head of the drum school for Samba Colorado, Colorado’s only Afro-Brazilian drum and dance studio. Michael is also the performing percussionist of Mudra Dance Studio, Colorado’s largest Indian dance group. He also plays with the Quemando salsa band, hip-hop/soul group Other Black, the Temple Micah music group, and many more. He received his Bachelor of Science studying Afro-Cuban percussion with Thomas Van Schoick at the University of Colorado Denver, and later studied Afro-Brazilian music in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil with renowned mestres of Afro Brazilian music and dance, Ze Ricardo, Joel Santos, and Rosangela Silvestre, to name a few. Michael is eager to share his drumming knowledge gained and from his intense study playing in many diverse styles.
