I Studied with John Riley, Manhattan School Of Music, The New School, author of "Bop Drumming" and "Bop and Beyond", Ralph Peterson (Rutgers, now Berklee), Ari Hoenig (The New school) and most recently with Ian Froman (Berklee and Drummers Collective NYC)
I also Studied Piano and Jazz Harmony with Radam Schwartz and the New Jersey Jazz institute and classical piano with Nina Ichaditze of Freehold for a total of 7 years. I can also handle teacher beginner piano and can teach beginning, intermediate to advanced harmony/theory for drum students that are interested.
I have played professionally as a free lance drummer in the NJ area for the last 23 yrs playing styles including Jazz, Rock, Reggae/Ska, Blues, various New Orleans styles, Funk, R &B, musicals and more.
I've been teaching since 95' and have only worked at a few places for long periods of time including Drummers Alley in Red Bank, Musicians Workshop, The Home Studio, Long Branch and Music University in Freehold. I focus on the students needs and interests while trying to keep them interested and motivated. I teach rudiments, (American and Swiss) 4 way independence/coordination, various styles, Jazz (sticks and brushes) Rock, Funk, R&B/Soul, Metal, Blues,Country, Pop and Punk. I also teach various world styles such as some Afro Cuban, Brazilian, Calypso, Reggae and more. Another area I like to teach is phrasing, listening/ learning how to listen, songs and song structure. I can also handle teaching beginner piano and can teach beginning, intermediate to advanced harmony/theory for drum students that are interested.
