About Michelle W
Michelle received her B.M. and M.M in violin performance from American Conservatory of Music. While she attended American Conservatory, she played in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, as well as other ensembles in the area. Upon graduating, she continued to perform in the Northwest Indiana Symphony. Recently, she has played for weddings and other occasions as part of different local ensembles, including her guitar/violin duo, Sempre Strings.
Michelle completed her Suzuki training with Alice Joy Lewis, Tom Wermuth, Craig Timmerman, Marge Aber, and Kay Slone. She is registered through book ten, and has completed several additional enrichment units of training with the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
To further her training in other forms of violin music, she recently took Units one and two of the Mark O’Conner Fiddle Teacher Training this Summer.
Michelle has taught Suzuki and Traditional violin for over twenty years. She has previously taught at The Suzuki School of Barrington, The Jack Benny Center, Lakes Area Music, Zion Conservatory, Suzuki Academy of Chicago, Park Forest Conservatory, and Trinity International University.
She enjoys teaching students of all ages, and presently teaches students ranging from ages four to adults. Her students have gone to district and state solo orchestra competitions and festivals, and have played in The Midwest Young Artist’s Orchestra, as well as many community, show, and school orchestras all around the area.

Teaching philosophy/style: Suzuki. Welcomes other musical styles as ability allows.
Parent Policy: Parents are encouraged to attend lessons.

For students older than 9, or adults: other materials as indicated and a music stand for home practice
For all students: violin/viola; shoulder rest or sponge.
