About Nancy

Nancy Allen, a native of Independence, Missouri, has been a musician all of her life, performing on piano, organ, percussion, and guitar.  She holds a Bachelor of Percussion Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (Kansas City, MO) where she studied percussion under Dr. Michael Udow, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education and Church Music from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (Richmond, VA) where she studied organ under Dr. David McCormick.  She has played percussion with the Kansas City Symphony, the St. Joseph Symphony (MO), the UMKC Accordion Orchestra, and various percussion ensembles.  She has served as music director for various churches in the Richmond/Tri-Cities area, directing choirs of all ages, handbell choirs, and acting as organist/pianist.   She has also given organ recitals within the Tri-Cities area.  Nancy was accompanist for the Petersburg Festival Chorus, Old Towne Opera, and a “sub for the sub” at Swift Creek Theater for the musical “Something’s Afoot”.   Dr. Lynn Atkins, Director of One Voice Chorus in Richmond, VA has invited Nancy to accompany the chorus at their June, 2018 concert

Teaching music to all ages is a passion for Nancy.  Her goal in teaching is to provide the student with music learning in a fun but challenging style.  Nancy has taught music to preschool age children through 8th grade in private and parochial schools.  She is the owner and director of Rehoboth School of Music where she teaches private music lessons in piano, drums/percussion, and guitar.  She also owns Rehoboth Piano Services under which she tunes, repairs, and regulates pianos.

Finally, Nancy lives in Petersburg with her dog, Bella, and her five cats, Krissie, Pu, Jazz, Munchkin, and Bubba J.
