About Noa Miller
Noa Miller was born in Israel to Russian immigrants. She began her musical studies with piano at the age of four. In 2003, she switched to the trumpet studying with Joyce Johnson-Hamilton when her family moved to California. In 2017 Miller won first place at the International Women Brass Conference Susan Slaughter Solo Trumpet Competition (Category I). In 2015 Miller was a semi-finalist in both the Graduate and Small Ensemble Divisions at the National Trumpet Competition. Previous summer festivals and seminars include: Atlantic Music Festival, Marrowstone Music Festival, Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar, and Summer Brass Institute and Festival.
Noa Miller is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trumpet Performance and a minor in Music History, studying with James Ackley at University of South Carolina. Miller completed her Master's degree studying with Alan Siebert and Phil Collins at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and her undergraduate degree studying with John Schlabach at Ohio University. She is currently an adjunct trumpet instructor at Columbia College (SC) and plays second trumpet with the Aiken Symphony Orchestra.
