About Oznur Tuluoglu
Not only does Öznur wish to provide her musicians with a solid technique, but also to give them the tools and confidence they need to further their craft beyond the studio room. She believes in fostering a safe and fun space for her students that will challenge their perceived limitations as they explore his or her instrument together.
Öznur Tülüoğlu began her professional musical training in the renowned high school Baltimore School For the Arts under the instruction of Kelli A. Young. She graduated from New England Conservatory with a Vocal Performance degree in 2019 where she studied under Lisa Saffer’s tutelage. Along with her bachelors in vocal performance, she completed a minor in music theory with published music theory author, Deborah Stein, as her advisor. Currently, Öznur attends Maryland Opera Studio where she is working towards her Masters degree with tenor, Gran Wilson, as her teacher.
Öznur is very active in the performance world as she travels to different countries and cities to sing in concerts. Her upcoming season includes singing the role of Mrs. Coyle in Britten's Owen Wingrave and Arminda in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera with the Maryland Opera Studio. In 2018, Öznur made her operatic debut as Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore with the Little Patuxent Opera Institute. Other summer festivals Öznur has attended include AIMS in Graz, Austria, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Washington National Opera Institute. She has participated in master classes with wrold-renowned opera singers such as Barbara Bonney, Harolyn Blackwell, Sandra Piques Eddy, and Richard Stilwell.
Öznur’s awards include 1st place winner in the UMBC Young Artist Art Song Competition and 2nd place Central Maryland Chorale Competition. She was also the Merit Winner for the International YoungArts competition in 2015.
