About Peter

Peter has been a music teacher for more than 15 years. He Plays Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, Bass, Piano, Banjo, and also Sings. He encourages students to read and write music. For beginners, a good amount of the time is spent learning where on the instrument and musical staff notes are located. As his students show mastery in their note reading skills, some of the time gets allocated to ear training, chord structure and theory.


Peter Rawstron went to school for music education at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ. He is a certified Music Together teacher.


In college he studied with Marvin Keenze and under the musical direction of Dr.James Jordan, Donald Dumpson and Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt. In 2000 he sang with Westminster Symphonic Choir performing Dvorák Requiem Symphony #9. That performance won the school a Grammy Award. This experience has allowed him to have a unique perspective on music making and performing. He is looking forward to sharing and making new musical experiences with you.
