Robert M. Freed started his piano studies with his mother, Dorothy T. Freed. His later teachers include Sperry L. Storm, Ellen Wassermann, Peter amstutz, Frederick Minger, and Reynaldo Reyes. He received training at the Peabody Preparatory School of Music, and later graduated with honors from Towson State University with a double major in piano performance and mathematics secondary education in 1974. He has also done post graduate work at Towson University where he studied piano pedagogy with N. Jane Tan. During his studies at towson University, he was the recipient of two scholarship awards, one by the department of music and another being the Sidney J. Lieberman Memorial scholarship award. He has many performance credits in the Frederick, Maryland are. He has appeared as a soloist with the Frederick Youth Orchestra, Calvary Concert Orchestra, and the Towson University Orcchestra. Mr. Freed lives in Frederick, Maryland where he is the owner and operator of the Dorothy T. Freed Music Library and Laboratory. He has successfully been teaching piano since 1970 and has been teaching for Music and Arts since 1993.
