Robert Kennon, percussionist, is an active music educator and performer in and around the New London County area. He teaches a wide range of percussion instruments, including classical and rudimental snare drum, mallets, hand drums and drum set. He invites students of all ages into his studio. His current roster includes students between the ages of 8 and 65. He has worked with a wide range of students looking for assistance in preparing for circumstances including college auditions, student recitals and concerts, as well as students looking to create local bands for either fun of profit. His lessons provide a strong foundation in all the fundamental skills needed to be a percussionist. When dealing with students coming from school systems, he aligns his lessons to reinforce the subject matter they are being exposed to in their band programs. He prides himself on working with both students and band directors to craft specific lesson strategies to best fit the individual needs of his students. Whatever your reasons for wanting lessons in percussion are, he welcomes the opportunity to help you on your musical journey. You can catch Robert performing with his band, Bank Street Groove, in and around the Connecticut area.
