About Robert

Robert Laforce graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance, earning the Outstanding Achievement Award in 1991. From 1994-1997 he taught applied and ensemble percussion at Shepherd University, and since then, has developed an extensive private teacher practice in the Baltimore/Washington area. Many of his students have achieved success at count, state, collegiate, and professional levels.

In addition to being the principal drummer/percussionist at the Columbia Center of Theatrical Arts, Bob is the drummer for D.C.'s premier event/party band Retrospect. For fourteen years, Bob served as principal percussionist with the Gettysburg Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Opera Orchestra, and the Baltimore Jazz Orchestra. He has also performed with orchestras at the Lyric Opera House, Pier Six Concert Pavilion, Merriweather-Post Pavilion, and the Hippodrome Theater. Bob has performed with numerous Grammy and Tony Award winning artists including pianist/composer Peter Nero, film and stage actor Richard Harris, Contemporary Christian vocalist Sandi Patty, Broadway choreographer/performer Tommy Tune and pop music vocalist Sheena Easton.

Bob teaches all styles of music, beginner through advanced.
