About Bob Mitchell
Bio: He started on violin in elementary school, and played throughout high school, but in the early 70’s, put it down favoring electric guitar, with the likes of Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Hendrix and Cream grabbing his attention. Later on in the late 70’s, he picked up violin again, now electrified, having been inspired by Kansas and Electric Light Orchestra to do new things with the violin, playing in several original progressive bands. Bob teaches traditional classical violin, as well as ear playing, improvising, and soloing.
He has also served as a worship leader on and off over the past twenty years, at one of the larger churches in the area, as well as teaching children’s guitar and uke classes there. "Teaching others about worship, leading and playing on teams is something I really enjoy, especially watching kids develop into leaders."
Bob brings reading, theory, and improvising to his students, along with helping them find who they are as musicians.
He has recorded several demos and projects with his bands and others, as well as several church projects.
