About Scott

Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Scott Wheeler is an active freelance trombonist and teacher in the greater Western New York area. Scott received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia in Fredonia, NY, where he studied trombone with members of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Including Carl Mazzio. Scott recently received his Masters Degree in Trombone Performance from Duquesne University, in sunny Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. While at Duquesne Scott studied with many members of the GRAMMY winning Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, most notably with James Nova.

Over the past few years, Scott has performed with regionally recognized ensembles such as the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, Erie Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Fredonia College Symphony Orchestra, Fredonia Wind Ensemble, Erie County Wind Ensemble, Trinity Music Group Big Band, Duquesne Symphony Orchestra and Band, the West Hills Symphonic Band, and 716 Trombones.
