About Jenny Chao
Jenny Yang began piano studies at age 5 and violin at age 7, continuing both instruments through college. She has benefited from solid academic training under professors of top music colleges. She graduated from Eastman School of Music with a M.M degree, studying with one of the world’s top concert violinists Oleh Krysa . After graduation, she studied with Jody Gatwood at Catholic University of America where she earned Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance. She is also active as an accompanist locally and abroad, working with many strings/vocal studios and choirs in the area.
Besides performance, Jenny is an enthusiastic teacher. Being responsible and patient, she gets along very well with students of all ages and abilities, giving them the greatest encouragement and support. She knows every student has their own strengths and challenges, so she always observes them and chooses the most effective way to best help them making progress. She believes learning an instrument should always be fun and rewarding.
