Education: Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Michigan
Performance Experience: Played in the Wayne State University alumni band.
Teaching Experience: Band director in both public and private schools at the elementary, middle and high school levels. General music teacher Kindergarten through twelfth grade. History teacher at the high school level. Over thirty years as a private lesson instructor.
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is every child should be able to experience playing an instrument . To have the ability to make music opens creativity in all areas of life.
Get to know Teresa Pierce
Even in my early years as a flute player I knew I wanted to teach music. I have over thirty five years as a band director, and private woodwind instructor. I love all genre of music, however I specialize in classical, pop and jazz.
